WHAT IS TEXAN SMART?
Texan Smart is the financial education center at Tarleton State University dedicated to helping students build strong money management skills. Through workshops, peer coaching, events, and resources, Texan Smart provides practical guidance on budgeting, saving, credit, and financial decision-making so students can achieve financial confidence during college and beyond.
OUR PURPOSE
Our purpose is to empower students with the knowledge and tools they need to make informed financial decisions. We aim to build lifelong money management skills—like budgeting, saving, using credit responsibly, and planning for the future. That way, students can reduce financial stress, stay on track academically, and achieve long-term financial well-being.

Texans Talk Money is a student-focused financial literacy podcast from Texan Smart. The podcast provides practical, easy-to-understand guidance on topics like budgeting, saving, credit, and managing unexpected expenses. Hosted by peer coaches and the occasional guest expert, each episode is designed to help Tarleton students build confidence with their money and make informed financial decisions.
