Past Community Outreach

This award is in memory of one of our mathematics education instructors, Rose Ann Jackson.  Mrs. Jackson had a heart for teaching.  She taught all grade levels in mathematics and reading in public school before joining us at Tarleton to help prepare preservice teachers.  She believed in discovery learning, and she believed in making lessons “come to life!”  Mrs. Jackson’s family knows how expensive it is to setup a classroom and have all the manipulatives a teacher needs to help their students learn.  Her family honors her legacy each year by giving a graduating senior money to put into their first classroom.
