Aspiring Mathematicians Day

Aspiring Mathematics Day Logo

Aspiring Mathematicians Day is a one-day conference on the campus of Tarleton State University in Stephenville, Texas. This event is designed to showcase the many career opportunities available with a degree in mathematics. Conference attendees will include high school students, high school classroom teachers, and parents/guardians. As an added benefit, high school mathematics teachers can earn Continuing Professional Education (CPE) hours for participating in this event.

Our goal is to inspire students by demonstrating the various real-world applications of mathematics and the doors that a mathematics degree can open. Furthermore, we aim to emphasize the importance of mathematics as the foundation for numerous other majors in STEM, as it provides the essential principles and problem-solving techniques necessary for student success in these fields.

Mathematics is a critical discipline that opens doors to numerous career opportunities in fields such as engineering, data science, finance, actuarial science, technology, and education. Often, students believe that they need a specialized degree to enter many of these careers and are unaware of how flexible and useful a degree in mathematics can be.

Support for Aspiring Mathematicians Day is provided by the Mathematical Association of America and the Tensor Foundation. Thanks to our sponsors, registration and food will be provided at no cost to you. Please click the appropriate button below to register.
