Eligibility Requirements
In order to be eligible for AROTC, applicants must meet the following qualifications:
Must agree to accept a commission and serve in the Army on Active Duty or in a Reserve Component; either the Army Reserve or the Army National Guard.
Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Must not have reached 29th birthday during anticipated graduation and commissioning year.
Incoming freshman must have a high school GPA of at least 2.5, and a minimum SAT score of 920 (math/reading) or 19 on the ACT.
Applicants with prior military service may be eligible for age adjustments for the amount of time equal to their prior service, on a month-by-month basis, for a maximum of 36 months if they will not reach their 29th birthday by December 31st of their anticipated graduation and commissioning year.
Must not have moral obligations or personal convictions that prevent conscientious bearing of arms, supporting and defending the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, both foreign and domestic.
AROTC Commissioning
Upon successful completion of the AROTC Program and baccalaureate or graduate degree, a Cadet is commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Army. In some instances, active service can be delayed by students continuing in post-baccalaureate degree programs. Cadets can serve in the Army National Guard, Army Reserve, or compete for Active Duty depending on the scholarship program.
