We are SO excited to have you on campus! Remember, housing is first come first serve and it is very important to apply early. We encourage all students to have their housing application completed by January! AND the sooner you complete all three steps the sooner you can get your room assignment and meet your roommate!
1. Log in to myGateway
Following admission to Tarleton State University, access myGateway using your Tarleton UID and password.
If you don’t remember your UID or password, use UID Lookup.
2. Access the Student Housing Portal
Select the DuckTrax tab; from the menu options choose the Student Housing tab to access to the Student Housing portal.
Review the application links and select the appropriate application period, and then complete the contract process.
Pay the $100 Application Fee
Your application fee must be paid in order for your housing app to process.
To pay your application fee, provide your first and last name and student NTNET ID number. Keep in mind your application fee is one-time only and is non-refundable. You can pay your $100 application fee using one of the following methods:
Pay In-Person at the Cashier’s Office

- Check
- Money Order
- Cashier’s Check
- Credit Card (over the phone)

Sign up for Texan Orientation
Orientation is not open yet – make sure to check your email and watch for your invitation when it opens in October!
All incoming students are required to attend Texan Orientation.
At Orientation, you will register for your first semester of classes, get your official Tarleton student ID, and check out your first residence hall. You will have the chance to meet with departments like financial aid, admissions, and housing to take care of your other enrollment steps.
Receive Your Room Assignment
Steps to receive a housing assignment:
Step 1: Complete the housing application
Step 2: Pay the application fee (Processing could take up to 3 business days)
Step 3: Sign up for Texan Orientation
Step 4: Create or join a roommate group (optional) (All previous steps must be completed and processed by our office prior to gaining access to this step)
If you are an admitted student and you have completed all the steps above, you are now eligible to receive an assignment. Please follow the steps below to check your assignment:
