Student Counseling Services

Mental health counseling services are available to Tarleton students seeking support for ongoing or situational psychological and behavioral concerns. Our team consists of licensed generalist clinicians practicing in the state of Texas, with a shared commitment to promoting resiliency, connection, hope, and healing across the Tarleton community. We support students facing a wide range of common challenges, including—but not limited to—depression, anxiety, academic stress, relationship issues, loneliness, adjustment to college life, and thoughts of self-harm or suicide. While availability may vary, we do our best to accommodate students’ preferences and schedules.

Our services include:

  • Short-term, solution-focused counseling for currently enrolled students.
  • Individual counseling, including brief therapy and single-session appointments.
  • Counseling groups focused on shared concerns or experiences.
  • Mental health training, wellness workshops, and collaborative outreach.
  • Survivor support services.
  • Consultation services for faculty, staff, and campus partners.
  • Referral coordination for specialized or higher-level care when needed.
  • Cross-campus collaboration to support student wellbeing.
  • Our phone number (254-968-9044) is answered 24/7 to assist students with mental health support after-hours. Students can also receive free 24/7 mental health and wellbeing support via TELUS Student Support. For immediate safety concerns, dial 911 or visit your nearest emergency room.

Trainings and Workshops

  • We offer trainings and workshops to students, faculty, and staff to increase awareness and understanding of mental health.
