Who can use virtual tutoring?
Virtual tutoring is available to:
- Tarleton Today, Dual Enrollment students
- Students enrolled in fully online degree programs
- Students enrolled at a Tarleton campus other than Stephenville
Students enrolled in an in-person course at the Stephenville campus should use the Math Achievement Center’s free drop-in tutoring services in Math 203.
What can I expect during virtual tutoring?
Virtual tutoring provides academic support while tutors continue assisting students in the Math Achievement Center. Tutors can answer questions, help you get started on problems, explain concepts, and provide guidance as you work.
Virtual tutoring is not a private, one-on-one tutoring appointment. Tutors assist both virtual and in-person students throughout their scheduled shift, so you may need to wait briefly while the tutor assists another student.
When do I need to submit my request?
Requests may be submitted at any time. To be considered for your preferred tutoring day:
- Tuesday through Friday tutoring: Submit your request by 5:00 p.m. on the previous business day.
- Monday tutoring: Submit your request by 2:00 p.m. on Friday.
Requests received after these deadlines will be considered for the next available tutoring day.
How can I prepare for virtual tutoring?
Before joining virtual tutoring:
- Know which topics or problems you need help with.
- Have your notes, textbook, or assignment ready.
- Join from a device that allows you to participate and share your work.
Being prepared allows the tutor to spend more time helping you with the mathematics.
