About Us
As the office of Student Global and Community Connections, we deliver intentional, student-centered programming that highlights Tarleton’s vibrant student body. Our initiatives focus on leadership development, military engagement, global awareness, and civic connection, fostering a culture of connection and preparing students to lead with integrity in an interconnected world. Guided by collaboration and purpose, we are committed to advancing student excellence and furthering Tarleton’s mission across all campuses.
Mission
SGCC’s mission is to provide intentional student-centered programming that gives informed context about Tarleton’s robust and vibrant students to cultivate community and a culture of success. We work to establish meaningful connections amongst Tarleton’s global communities to champion career-oriented and civically prepared leaders. Lastly, we will create educational awareness on how to effectively serve and support Tarleton’s student populations.
Vision
Our vision is to provide student-centered & integrity-focused programming. We hope to create collaborative efforts for student excellence. We strive to engage with intentional respect for all Tarleton Texans.
Three Pillars of the Office of Student Global and Community Connections

Global
Programs and resources foster international engagement and cross-cultural learning, including study abroad opportunities, advising for international students, and passport programs. These initiatives prepare students to navigate and lead in a globally interconnected world.
Community
Civic engagement and military initiatives are prioritized, supporting Tarleton’s status as a certified military-friendly campus. Service, outreach, and partnerships cultivate responsibility, connection, and impact within and beyond the Tarleton community.


Connections
Leadership development and meaningful networks are emphasized through programs such as the Students as Global and Innovative Leaders cohort, Texas Leadership Scholars, and the National Society of Leadership and Success. These opportunities support students in becoming informed, capable, and civically engaged leaders.
