Your path starts at Texan Orientation

IT’S THE START OF SOMETHING NEW…

And the only way to properly jumpstart your journey at Tarleton State University is by attending Texan Orientation.

All incoming students are expected to attend Texan Orientation.

Mother and daughter pose at Texan Orientation.

Incoming students will get the opportunity to meet one on one with their advisor to create their first semester class schedule, get their official student ID and check out their first year residence hall. Students and their families will also have the opportunity to chat with on-campus services like housing, Veteran Services and the Office of Financial Aid.

Time spent with your advisor is very important and should be spent wisely. The best way to maximize your time with your advisor is by completing and submitting your Texas Success Initiative Assessment (TSI). This helps your advisor place you in the proper classes needed to satisfy your degree program.

Dual credit students are also advised to submit their unofficial college transcript!

STUDENTS DO NOT PAY TO ATTEND ORIENTATION. However, guests 18 years or older can expect to be charged a $50 fee to attend Stephenville’s orientation and $40 to attend Fort Worth’s.

The fee covers session materials, lunch and snacks, a guest bag stocked with Tarleton gear and promotional offers from community partners.

If you plan to bring anyone under the age of 18, there is no need to account for them here as they do not pay a fee and do not count toward your guest max.

There are currently four available dates at the Stephenville and Fort Worth campuses! For more information or further assistance with orientation, feel free to reach out to transition@tarleton.edu !
