Summer FUNlist

Summer 2022 has officially begun and there are so many things you can do during this break! Whether you are staying in Stephenville or back at home this summer, we have created a fun filled list of activities to do to keep you entertained.

Big Axe House

Let loose and have fun with friends at one of Stephenville’s newest entertainment spots! Their atmosphere is all about having a good time; axe throwing fun, food & drinks, and team building activities! 

Splashville

Here in Stephenville the summer heat is scorching and the best place to cool off is our very own water park. There is a lap pool, 275-foot lazy river, slides, and a kid section. Splashville is the perfect place to relax and work on your tan.

All of the newest and greatest movies are located at this theater! They have a full concussion stand with everyone’s favorite movie essential snacks. But wait there’s more, at this theater students can receive a student discount by showing their school ID!

Legends Country Club

This golf course is welcome to all skill levels with 18 holes to play on. This is the perfect place for you and your friends to book a tee time and spend your day out in the sun playing a round of golf. They also offer a driving range area and a chipping/putting green area.

Texas Wide:

Six Flags Over Texas

If you are looking for a thrill and adventure, Six Flags Arlington is your best option! There are 13 world-class roller coasters and nearly 40 thrilling rides located in the 212-acre theme park. They offer kid rides, live shows, shops, restaurants, special events, and of course adrenaline filled rides. 

Barton Springs

Located in Austin, Texas is a three-acre natural spring water pool. On average the temperature is 68-70 degrees Fahrenheit which is perfect to cool off on a hot summer’s day. If you want to stay dry there are paddle board rentals to enjoy the scenery above water. 

Fort Worth Stockyards

This isn’t just a historical landmark in Texas, it is an entertaining spot for all your needs. Twice a day the Fort Worth Herd steers make their way down East Exchange Avenue for their cattle drive. The night life in the stockyards is one of a kind with plenty of restaurants and the famous Billy Bob’s Texas where you can country line dance all night long!

Shopping

Between Dallas, Austin, and Houston they all have endless amounts of different shopping experiences. These cities are home to some of the best malls in Texas and varieties of boutiques. If you are willing to splurge you can also find any designer name brand in each city. The NorthPark Center in Dallas is one of the finest shopping malls with more than 200 stores and restaurants.

Palo Duro Canyon

Out in West Texas lies the second-largest canyon is the United States. The deepest descent of the canyon is around 800 feet to the canyon floor! While you are here visiting you can horseback ride, camp, hike or bike miles of trials, and learn more at the historical sites. By advanced reservation you can stay in one of their many cabins! There are seven Cow camp Cabins that are still rustic with a modern touch. For a luxury experience you can stay in one of the 20 Doves Rest Cabins that are custom designed. 

Blue Bell Creamery 

Texas is home to the birthplace of Blue Bell Ice Cream and is open to visitors on weekdays! The public is allowed to tour the factory and receive a $1 giant scoop of ice cream! What better way to spend a day than at the home of Blue Bell eating the best ice cream?
