Hey, I’m Annie Hailey, a masters of marketing student at Texas A&M University and Communications Coordinator in Enrollment Management here at Tarleton State.

Everyone’s experience of getting their masters and working full time is unique but what we all have in common is time management and making what little time we have work. Read below to see a sneak peek of one of my busy days!
6:15 AM – Wake up bright and early
- Let my golden retriever puppy (Honey) out and then feed breakfast to her and my cat (Luna)
6:45 AM – Take Honey on her morning walk around my townhouse complex
7:00 AM – Get ready for work
- Make breakfast for myself and make a latte for the office
7:30 AM – Let Honey out one last time and start gathering all the things I need to bring to work
- What’s in my bag? I always have my current read with me so right now it is “I Am Malala”, snack (peach & cheese), sunglasses, gum, and most importantly my diet coke coin fund.
8:00 AM – Arrive to the office and get settled for the day
9:30 AM – Today I had my performance review meeting with my manager
10:30 AM – Lilly’s gas station diet coke run, thanks to the coin fund
12:00 PM – Lunch at home
- Let Honey out and she gets a frozen greek yogurt treat
- Eat my lunch and then since the concrete wasn’t hot we went on a mid day walk

1:00 PM – Get back to the office and knock out the remainder of my work
4:30 PM – Take wellness and go to the park with Honey
5:00 PM – Feed Honey dinner and start cooking my dinner

5:30 PM – Eat my dinner and reset before getting started on school
6:00 PM – Zoom class starts, Marketing Consulting Capstone
- This was the first zoom of a new class, we got to know our professor, go over the capstone group project, and interview the client our project is about
7:30 PM – Class ends and I clean up the kitchen/living room for the evening
8:00 PM – Go on a long walk with Honey at the Bosque River Trail
8:45 PM – Shower and skin care
9:00 PM – Get in bed and call my mom for our nightly talk or read my book
9:45 PM – Go to sleep! A long day calls for striving to get 8-9 hours of sleep
As we all know, not every day is the same and sometimes our plans change in the moment. Some days I don’t have any time to look at my school work for the week and other days I am working on an assignment for four hours. Graduate school teaches us that our schedules are not reliable and that we have to rely on time management. Throughout my day I try to have key parts that are set in stone to still give me structure and fit things in between.
