Tyler Nerada Counselor

Hey y’all, my name is Tyler Nerada and I am an Admissions Counselor at Tarleton State! I cover the Central Texas/Hill Country region and I love getting to know our prospective students. I grew up in Victoria, Texas and graduated from Cuero High School in 2019. Since then I came to TSU to study Agribusiness and quickly developed a passion for Higher Education. I received my bachelors in December of 2022 and I am now working on a Master’s degree in Management!

What was your favorite thing about being a student?

IMG 6439

My favorite thing about being a student was the Duck Camp program. I served as a leader for three years and got to serve as a Student Director for the class of 2026! I learned so much about myself and how to lead others. I got to know so many incoming students and help them with their transition into college!

Best College Experience

My best college experience had to be Alternative Spring Break. Several students and myself went to Biloxi, Mississippi and served the community during our week off. It was so cool to get to learn about different cultures and environmental impacts they deal with!

Something You Would Like a Prospective Student to Know

My biggest advice for prospective students is to tour your college choices! Think of the college shopping experience like test driving a car, don’t buy one that doesn’t feel right!

What’s the best part of your job?

My favorite part of my job is helping students apply and then seeing them at Texan Orientation in the Spring. It is very fulfilling seeing students become a fully registered Tarleton Student!
