Welcome to the Office of Rodeo Activities!

Home of the 2015 National Champions

The Tarleton Rodeo Association has been part of a winning tradition since 1947. Tarleton teams have won seven national championship titles, four women’s and three men’s, and 28 individual national championships. We have one of the largest teams in the nation with 103 card-holding student members in 2019-2020.

The rodeo program operates under the Office of Rodeo Activities, part of the student affairs division. The rodeo program is greatly supported by President James Hurley, Vice President of Student Affairs Kelli Styron and Executive Director of Health and Wellness Robert Nimmo, Tarleton alumni, and the great people and companies of the Stephenville area.

Mark Eakin serves as director of rodeo activities and head coach. A 1997 Tarleton graduate, Eakin received his master’s degree from West Texas A&M and led the rodeo team to numerous National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association championship titles prior to returning to Tarleton. Assistant Coaches are Trevor Ervin and Brittany Stewart.
