Science Achievement Center

The Science Achievement Center is a free tutoring center provided to Tarleton students! It is located in room 123 of the Science Building. Students are able to visit on a drop-in basis; however, schedules will vary based on the subject in which you need assistance.

No appointment is necessary!

We have talented tutors in the areas of Chemistry and Biology. Listed below are the times you can visit with a tutor in your subject area during the fall semester. Come by and see us!

Want to Become a Tutor?

Qualifications:

  • Must have made a B or better in Chemistry related course
  • Chemistry, Biomedical Science, or Biology major (or related)
  • Must be in good academic standing

Job Duties include, but are not limited to: 

  • Helping students with science homework
  • Helping students find solutions to problems by looking at notes and consulting other tutors
  • Explain topics in a clear manner, using various teaching techniques to cater to different learning styles.
  • Address student questions and concerns, offering clarification on course content, assignments, and homework.
  • Assist students in reviewing and completing assignments, offering guidance and feedback on their work.

  • Appointments are not required, and wait times can vary depending on available tutors.
  • Tutoring sessions are customized, and session lengths can vary. Please plan accordingly.
  • You must be present during tutoring; you cannot drop off work to be reviewed by a tutor.
