Texan Orientation
We are excited to welcome you to campus and walk you through your next steps towards becoming a Texan.
Here’s what to expect:
Check-in:
The week of your Orientation event the student will receive an email with their assigned check-in time and location. The earliest check-in time to expect is 8:30 AM.
- If you have an official signed and sealed transcript you are needing to drop off, you can bring this to check-in!
- You will also receive your official Tarleton Texan Card, please bring a license or photo ID (with I9 documentation) for verification
Texan Welcome:
Hear from our University President, Dr. James Hurley, meet your TTMs (Tarleton Transition Mentors) and learn the Tarleton Color Song!
Group Time:
This is a time to learn from your leaders! They will provide an academic piece of advice as you begin college, talk to you about Duck Camp, and give a run-down of what your day will look like from here!
Lunch and Learn:
During this time you and your guests will attend three rotation sessions, one of them is lunch!
Fall Registration & Guest Session:
Students will be broken out with their TTM by college to meet with Academic Advising and faculty to get advised and registered for Fall classes!
While registration is in process, all guests will attend a panel session to learn more about campus safety, housing, financial aid, FERPA, Tarleton Parents Association, and more!
Finish Strong:
This is where you will meet back up with your guests to finish the day strong! Now that you’ve registered, it’s time to get any questions that you may have answered!
- Pick up your Texan Card.
- Tour your future residence hall!
- Stop by Financial Aid, Scholarships, Business Services, and Veteran Affairs.
- Hear from Global Initiatives and Services, Career Services, the Health Center, and Counseling Services.
- Learn about parking, claiming your student email, student Involvement, and Texan Smart!
