President’s Guaranteed Scholarship Program – Freshman
The President’s Guaranteed Scholarship Program aligns with the 120-year vision of Tarleton’s founder and benefactor to provide a high-quality university education to students who otherwise might not have the chance. Tarleton State University will guarantee scholarship levels to entering first-time freshmen who graduate in the top half of their high school class.
In order to be considered for the President’s Guaranteed Scholarship program you must complete your General Scholarships Application and submit your SAT/ACT scores if you have taken either test. Awards will be divided between fall and spring semesters based on full-time enrollment and be renewable for up to 4 years with satisfactory academic progress.
Students graduating in the top 10% of their high school class will be guaranteed at an annual level between $2,000 and $4,000 depending upon their test scores. Students graduating in the top 25% (but not top 10%) of their high school class will be guaranteed at an annual level between $1,000 and $2,000 depending on their test scores. What if I don’t apply by the Scholarship Priority Deadline (February 15)? A: Students submitting the scholarships application after the February 15 deadline will be eligible as funding allows. It is in the student’s best interest to apply as soon as possible.
Will this be the only money I can receive for scholarships? A: You can receive other scholarships and might qualify for more than the guaranteed amount. The guaranteed amounts can be funded partially or completely by institutional and/or endowment funds.
