Dear Tarleton State Family,

Happy New Year! The dawn of a new year brings not only the promise of fresh beginnings but also great enthusiasm. I know this semester is poised to be the most remarkable yet, starting with today’s first day of classes and Purple Thursday.

This year holds a lot of exciting developments, starting with our steadfast commitment to advancing rural healthcare. In fact, next Wednesday, we will break ground for the new Health Professions Building, an $80 million state-of-the-art facility. This landmark addition will position Tarleton State as a beacon in regional rural healthcare, solidifying our status as one of the nation’s premier health-related training institutions.

The heartbeat of progress resonates in ongoing construction projects, including the $110 million multipurpose Event Center with NCAA Division I basketball facilities and versatile spaces for academic convocations, symposiums, concerts, and conventions. Additionally, the brand-new Research and Economic Development Building is taking shape, heralding an innovation ecosystem that will accelerate research and fortify regional partnerships.

In Fort Worth, the completion of the Interprofessional Education Building is right around the corner, where our Tarleton State Texans will continue their education in a best-in-class teaching and research facility. The eagerly anticipated parking garage on our main campus is also nearing completion, which I’m sure brings a touch of excitement for everyone.

Founder’s Week, spanning April 15-20, continues to be one of the best weeks of the spring, featuring Silver Taps, May Fete, and the crowning of Lord and Lady Tarleton. A spectacular concert, tailgating festivities, and the spring Purple and White football game will contribute to the vibrancy of our traditions.

As we embrace the opportunities for growth, discovery, and shared memories this semester, I eagerly await seeing you at all our campuses. Together, let’s write the next chapter in the captivating story of Tarleton State University.
