Engineering Student Life
Student Access | Organizations | Job Fairs

Our hope at the Mayfield College of Engineering is that students will leave Tarleton State with the social, professional and leadership skills they will need to excel in their field. We strive to build a community where our students take responsibility for their education.
With eleven engineering-specific organizations, our students can focus on their passions while getting hands-on experience with like-minded peers. Many of our organizations are student chapters of national engineering societies, providing scholarships, competition opportunities and industry connections, giving students even more career opportunities.
While most of our organizations highlight a specific engineering field, our Engineering Ambassadors are made up of students from every department. The ambassadors host facility tours for potential students and business professionals, community outreach and much more. We encourage students to get involved by hosting organization cookouts in our courtyard, where they can share more about all the opportunities within our college.
Every semester, the Mayfield College of Engineering hosts an engineering-specific career fair to give students the opportunities to network, find internships and meet employers, helping ensure success post graduation. Tarleton State prepares students professionally by providing resume and LinkedIn workshops, career coaches and free professional headshots. In the spring, students present projects and research at the Mayfield College of Engineering Student Project Showcase. This event recognizes the intentional dedication Tarleton State students have to their education, showcasing their accomplishments for their peers, the Stephenville community, potential employers and our Engineering Advisory Board.
Engineering Success Center
Our tutors are advanced undergraduate students who have strong background in their respective disciplines. Students are welcome to use the clinic as a place to complete homework assignments, and have a tutor there in case any questions arise.
Student Competition Info
Student organizations like the American Society of Civil Engineers and the Texan Rocketry team use their skills to complete against other schools in challenges such as cement canoes, rocket payload experimentation, steel bridges and many other tasks.
