Committee Charge
The University Curriculum Committee is a working group that:
- Develops criteria and procedures to evaluate proposed courses and curricula in terms of their contribution to the objectives and needs of the University;
- Applies these criteria and procedures to all proposed courses and curricula and forwards the results of its action to the Academic Council;
- Studies courses and curricula in light of legislative and Coordinating Board directives, and
- Generally is responsible for examining and evaluating courses and programs of study at the University. The membership of the Curriculum Committee consists of the chairperson (appointed by the AVP for Curriculum, Assessment and Faculty Affairs), two members from each college, and a faculty senate representative. The membership term is two years. The chairperson is nonvoting except in case of a tie. Additional non-voting ex-officio members include: Academic Advising, Ex-Officio; Catalog and Curriculum Coordinator, Ex-Officio; and Secretary, Ex-Officio.
Policy or Statue Satisfied by Committee
None, other than ensuring, as per SACSCOC, that curriculum matters originate from the faculty.
Membership Requirements
