Dear Colleagues,
With what promises to be another incredible year underway, our momentum is building, and the excitement for what lies ahead has never been stronger! Our path to becoming the premier comprehensive university in the nation is made possible thanks to the unwavering support of The Texas A&M System Board of Regents and Chancellor Glenn Hegar. Their unbelievable backing was clearly demonstrated once again at today’s quarterly meeting.
As we work toward our goal of receiving Senior Military College designation, the regents approved the creation of Tarleton State’s Center for Leadership and Strategic Studies. The mission of the new center will be to develop young leaders by exploring foreign and domestic security trends through education, research and service. Some planned activities include conferences, symposiums, panel discussions, podcasts, book talks and leadership workshops.
Following the recent announcement of the elevation of our College of Health Sciences to the Division of Health Sciences, two new academic degree programs within the division were authorized to seek Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board approval. These programs will position students to thrive in higher-level roles within the industry:
- Master of Science in Exercise Science
- Master of Science in Sport Management
