Commencement Ceremony Information
Amid the exciting momentum with our football team’s potential to host an FCS Quarterfinal playoff game and out of an abundance of caution for unpredictable weather, Tarleton State University will move both December commencement ceremonies indoors to the EECU Center.
With this change, all guests will be required to have a ticket. Outlined in further detail below, all graduates will receive eight (8) tickets for the indoor ceremony and must be claimed no later than 5 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 4. Ticket distribution is currently underway at each designated location listed below. Tickets for the indoor ceremonies will NOT be available after the ticket distribution period ends. December Commencement ceremonies are scheduled for Friday, December 12 in the EECU Center on the Stephenville campus.

Will I be issued tickets for commencement?
Yes. Each graduate will receive eight tickets.
Will there be overflow seating for guests without tickets?
Yes. Overflow seating with a livestream of each ceremony will be available at select locations on the Stephenville campus. These spaces are open to non-ticketed guests on a first-come, first-served basis.
Is a livestream available?
Yes. Each ceremony will be livestreamed for anyone who wishes to watch online or from an overflow location on campus.
Can I defer my participation to May if I wanted the Memorial Stadium experience?
Yes. Graduates who prefer the Memorial Stadium setting may request to participate in the May Commencement ceremonies instead. To submit a commencement ceremony participation change request, email graduation@tarleton.edu.
How do I request to switch to the May ceremony?
Graduates can email graduation@tarleton.edu to request a change.
Are tickets required for children under 2?
No. Children under 2 years old do not require a ticket if they will be seated in an adult’s lap.
What time do doors open for commencement ceremonies?
All venue doors will open 90 minutes prior to the start of each ceremony (EECU Center and overflow locations).
Will there be seating options for guests with disabilities?
Yes. Accessible seating for disabled guests will be thoughtfully arranged throughout the EECU Center. Limited seating is available for guests requiring special accommodations, so graduates are encouraged to reach out to the Office of Student Accessibility Services with questions about accessible seating for their guest(s). What is the clear bag policy for commencement?

Will concessions be open during commencement?
Yes. Beverage service will be available for guests at the EECU Center during all commencement ceremonies.
