We are always looking for new ways to get involved in the Stephenville community. If you would like to see the Tarleton Bass Club at an event, please contact Cason Kelly by email.

Fishing with Foster’s

Fishing with Foster’s gives kids the opportunity to have a fun day on the water who don’t usually get a chance to participate in outdoor activities. Our volunteers interact with the kids while teaching them how to tie on hooks, bait their hooks, and cast. In 2018, Lone Star Ag Credit generously donated their time and resources to make sure all the kids and volunteers had a good lunch. There are many moving parts to this event, and several people were instrumental in its success. Mr. Tabor Meyers allowed us to take over his pond for the morning of the event. Lone Star Ag Credit provided lunch, Glenn Newbery coordinated transportation and provided tackle, and Cason Kelly coordinated the event.

Breast Cancer Awareness

The Bass Club sells special edition caps adorned with the pink breast cancer awareness ribbon to raise funds for programs that assist breast cancer patients. This effort stems from our personal experiences with the disease. In 2014, the mother of one of our members defeated stage 2 breast cancer, only to be diagnosed with triple negative the following year. She lost the battle only a couple days before the Christmas of 2015. Team members still remember her traveling out of state to cook their lunches on practice and tournament days. Her passing prompted the team to begin sporting a pink ribbon on the upper right chest of their jersey in support of her family. We expanded our outreach in 2018 to include the sale of these hats. If you would like to show your support for breast cancer patients and the Tarleton Bass Club, please direct message Tarleton State Bass Club on Facebook to order your cap.
