Professional Biography
Dr. A. Brant Poe serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Agricultural Education and Communication at Tarleton State University, where he has been a faculty member since 2017. A three-time graduate of Texas A&M University, Dr. Poe earned his Ph.D. in 2016, M.Ed. in 2003, and B.S. in 2000. His career in agricultural education spans over two decades and includes leadership and instructional roles at Texas A&M University, Blinn College, and the Texas Agricultural Extension Service. At Tarleton State, Dr. Poe develops and delivers coursework that bridges agricultural industries and agencies with experiential learning and leadership development. His professional impact extends beyond the classroom through partnerships with organizations such as the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, the State Fair of Texas, and the Erath County Chamber of Commerce. Recognized for his commitment to student success, Dr. Poe’s teaching consistently earns high evaluations, and his service reflects a dedication to advancing agricultural literacy, youth development, and industry collaboration. Dr. Poe helps facilitate the AGSD/ACOM Capstone internships, sits on, co-chairs or chairs, countless masters and doctoral committees.
