Professional Biography
Dr. Darrel Murray is a plant ecologist, and teaches classes in wildland plant ecology and identification, ecological restoration, and fire ecology. He is involved with an enthusiastic group of students that present research and participate in plant identification competitions at regional conferences. He also has an active research program, with most research centered on dryland grassland and savanna systems, with a broad interest in conservation of “working lands”. He is currently working on woody encroachment and restoration of rangelands in Texas and comparative systems in Botswana.
