General Scholarships

National Society of Collegiate Scholars

Offers members the chance to apply for the Scholar Abroad Program. This program funds two $5,000 awards and one $2,500 award each year. One award is made for each fall, spring, and summer term.

High Financial Need

Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship

This program offers a competition for study abroad awards for US citizen students who are receiving federal Pell Grant funding at a 2-year or 4-year college or university. The awards for a semester or academic year study abroad programs are up to $5,000. 

Senior Year & Graduate Opportunities

Fulbright Scholarships

The Fulbright grant is a competitive award that students apply for their senior year or after they graduate. The grant offers a chance to spend a year studying, researching, or teaching abroad while building cultural bridges between the US and your host country. There are two awards: the Study/Research Award, which funds graduate study or research in the host country, and the English Teaching Assistant (ETA) award, where grantees work as English teaching assistants.

The Marshall Scholarship

Marshall Scholarships finance young Americans of high ability to study for a graduate degree in the United Kingdom.  Up to fifty Scholars are selected each year to study at the graduate level at a UK institution in nearly any field of study. As future leaders, with a lasting understanding of British society, Marshall Scholars strengthen the enduring relationship between the British and American peoples, their governments, and their institutions.

Rotary International

Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarships are extraordinary opportunities and provide funds for students to study abroad the year after graduation from college (or beyond). A student may apply for the Rotary during the spring of the junior year. Therefore, if a student is looking for a chance to study in the country of his or her dreams the year following graduation from Tarleton, this is definitely a scholarship to be considered.

Military Families

John S. McCain International Scholarship

The Gilman-McCain Scholarship offers $5,000 awards to children and spouses of active or activated US military personnel who want to study or intern abroad in credit-bearing programs. To be eligible, applicants must have received or been receiving Title IV federal financial aid during the program.

Tarleton State University Funding Resources

College of Business Administration Study Abroad Scholarship

This scholarship will be given to undergraduate or graduate students in good academic standing with the university (2.0 or higher GPA), registered in a study abroad class offered by Tarleton State University’s College of Business Administration.

Jackie W. & Bill E. Stallworth ’51 International Business Excellence Fund Scholarship

This scholarship will be given to full-time students participating in the College of Business Administration Study Abroad Program.

W.L. (Bill) & Barbara Terrell Nix Honor Program Study Abroad Endowed Scholarship

This scholarship will be given to full-time students in Tarleton State University’s Honors College electing to participate in the Honors College study abroad program.

Affiliate Scholarships

Tarleton offers certain study abroad programs through affiliate providers. These programs offer their own scholarship opportunities. If you apply for a program through one of these organizations then you may have the opportunity for more funding. Please note: not all programs on these sites are approved by Tarleton.
