Student Media

Students lead Tarleton’s historic publications
Students produce two publications for Tarleton State University through the Student Media department: JTAC News and the Grassburr. Through these experiences, students learn communication skills, time management, photography, graphic design, leadership, sales, and more.
With the hard work of student editorials teams and contributors, these publications serve as the official record keepers for the university. The Grassburr was first published in 1916 and The J-TAC was first published in 1919.
Student staff work in The Source, the university’s on-site copy and print shop designed to conveniently assist students, student organizations, faculty, staff, and departments with their printing and copying needs.

Whether creatively exploring how we can help maintain Tarleton’s history or covering the latest events to include in the next yearbook, the Grassburr student staff members are here to help honor the memories of your Tarleton experience. Email us at [email protected].

JTAC News is Tarleton State University’s official student newspaper. Submit a story idea to JTAC News or look to advertise with us. Students produce the paper and web content as an editorial team with contributing staff and an advisor. Email us at [email protected] or call us at 254-968-9057.
