Marilyn Robitaille
In addition to reaching a milestone of forty+ years of marriage to Charlie Robitaille, Marilyn published Not by Design: Fifty Poems and Images (2018 Romar Press), an anthology of her poetry with watercolor and collage illustrations. Her work was most recently published in Texas Weather: An Anthology of Poetry, Short Fiction, and Nonfiction: The Power and Beauty of Weather in the Lone Star State (Lamar University Literary Press). She is founding co-editor of Langdon Review of the Arts in Texas. She has co-managed Anthology: A Student Forum for Prose, Poetry, and the Visual Arts, Tarleton State University’s student arts and literary magazine since its inception 26 years ago. With creative works published in a number of national and state publications, Marilyn’s current research interests have turned to specialized London productions of eighteenth-century plays by women. In addition to a teaching assignment in Tarleton’s Department of English, she also serves as Director of International Programs. Marilyn administers the university’s acculturation process of international students and facilitates study abroad opportunities across multiple disciplines and Colleges, most recently by designing a semester-long opportunity for undergraduate students with a partner university in Berlin, Germany. She also writes a weekly film review column for the Stephenville Empire Tribune and attended the Cannes Film Festival in 2018 as a press correspondent. She has two successful grown children (one of them married to a recently graduated Ph.D), four brilliant grandchildren, and a husband of infinite patience.
Moumin Quazi
Professor of English at Tarleton State University, Moumin earned his B.F.A. in Radio/Television/Film at Texas Christian University, an M.A. in Biblical Studies at Dallas Theological Seminary, and an M.A. and Ph.D. in English at the University of North Texas. He has been editing since 1991. He authored a book of poetry and short stories, Migratory Words (Lamar University Literary Press 2016) and has recently created his own literary press (Scheherazade Press). He is treasurer (and former two-term president) of the international South Asian Literary Association and treasurer of the Texas Association of Creative Writing Teachers; former two-term president of the Conference of College Teachers of English, and past-president of the Texas College English Association, and President-Elect of the Rotary International Club in Stephenville. He is the Texas liaison to the College English Association, which in 2019 awarded him the CEA Professional Achievement Award. In 2019, he was also elected to the CEA Board of Directors. In 2017, the Conference of College Teachers of English honored him with the prestigious Frances Hernández Teacher-Scholar Award. In 2012, he was awarded a Texas A&M University System Student Recognition Award for Teaching Excellence, and the 2016 Tarleton State University College of Liberal and Fine Arts “Engaged Faculty” Award. Moumin shares a home in Stephenville, with his wife P.J. (aka “Birdie”) and several rescued animals (though he thinks we’re all “rescued” animals). He hosts “The Beatles and Beyond” on Tarleton Public Radio KTRL where he does a weekly movie review, and serves as Chairman of the Board of Adjustment and as the Chair of the Erath County Democratic Party. He is also the voice of the Tarleton State Marching Band, The Sound and the Fury, during football halftime shows. In his spare time, he occasionally officiates weddings and funerals. The 2023 edition will be his 16th Langdon Review journal and Weekend to partner with Marilyn on.
