Work Hours & Important Dates

Overview

Working at Tarleton State provides students with valuable opportunities to gain experience through flexible scheduling, professional development, networking, and the ability to build transferable skills. The information below is designed to help departments understand and follow student employment regulations outlined in Tarleton State’s Student Employment Policies and Procedures.

Undergraduate & Graduate Assistants Working Hours

Undergraduates

  • Maximum 20-25 hours per week

Graduates

  • Maximum 20-25 hours per week
  • Maximum 5 hours per day

Spring Break & Summer

  • 20-25 hours per week (reach out to Student Employment for exceptions)

Winter Break

  • 40 hours per week

Students with Multiple Campus Jobs

  • Total hours cannot exceed university maximums.
  • Working hours from both jobs must equal a total of 20-25 hours per week, not per job.

Work Study & Intern 2 Learn Working Hours

International Students

  • 20-25 hours per week
  • Employments ends on their graduation date
  • Date must reflect I-20 end date

  • Summer: Employment ends on 7/31/2026

Work Study Employment Periods
