Building Homes, Strengthening Community
A Partnership Rooted in Purpose
The Global, Community, and First-Generation Initiatives division at Tarleton State University is proud to partner with Erath County Habitat for Humanity, an organization committed to creating lasting change through affordable housing and community collaboration. This partnership reflects a shared dedication to service, engagement, and making a meaningful impact both on campus and throughout the local community.
Habitat for Humanity
Erath County Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit organization that works to bring people together to build homes, communities, and hope. Guided by the mission of putting love into action, Habitat for Humanity partners with families, volunteers, and supporters to create safe, affordable housing opportunities. Their vision is simple yet powerful: a world where everyone has a decent place to live.
Through hands-on construction, community involvement, and long-term support, Habitat for Humanity empowers families to achieve stability and build stronger futures. Each home represents more than shelter—it represents opportunity, dignity, and hope for generations to come.
Together, Tarleton State University and Erath County Habitat for Humanity are building more than homes—we are building relationships, opportunity, and hope.
A Voice for Habitat
As part of this ongoing partnership, Tarleton State University proudly hosts A Voice for Habitat, an annual singing competition designed to raise awareness and support for Habitat for Humanity’s mission. Held in the Barry B. Thompson Ballrooms, this event brings together students, faculty, staff, and community members for an evening of music, connection, and purpose.
A Voice for Habitat showcases talented performers while highlighting the importance of community involvement and service. Attendees enjoy an engaging competition while directly supporting efforts that help local families achieve affordable homeownership.
