About the Cup
System pride meets friendly rivalry.
The Chancellor’s Cup is a new Texas A&M System tradition celebrating competition, school pride and excellence within the system. Sponsored by the Chancellor’s Century Council, the first Cup will be decided when the Panthers travel to Stephenville to take on the Texans.
The Chancellor’s Cup is more than a rivalry game between Tarleton State and Prairie View A&M. The trophy game is designed to recognize competition between any two of the system schools across multiple sports, creating opportunity for all system schools and student-athletes to participate. It also has the potential to expand beyond intercollegiate athletics into competitive arenas within academics, signature events and beyond.
After the game, Chancellor Glenn Hegar will present the inaugural Chancellor’s Cup trophy on the field to the winning university’s president, athletic director and head football coach.

“The Chancellor’s Cup gives us a way to celebrate
Glenn Hegar
that pride, stir up a little friendly
competition and remind folks across Texas just how much talent and spirit we have across
the A&M System.”
