Event Mission
Be part of something transformational. At the 2026 Tarleton State Gala, an Evening in Purple, your generosity fuels the Tarleton State Promise Program and transforms the futures of high-performing students facing extraordinary hardship.
John Tarleton’s 1899 gift laid the foundation for educating those in the greatest need. Today’s Tarleton Promise builds on his vision and lifts the financial barriers that keep students from reaching their goals.
The Tarleton State Promise extends funding beyond state and federal financial aid for high-performing students with extreme hardship. Value of the investment could top $6 million annually.
Thanks to the Tarleton State Promise, students have a greater chance of success.
For federal Pell Grant students in the top 50 percent of their high school graduating class, or GPA equivalent, the Tarleton Promise covers their remaining balance after scholarships and grants are exhausted.
The Tarleton State Promise covers tuition, required fees such as parking, and meal plans. It also provides a textbook allowance per semester.
