Tarleton State University Last Lecture Series

If you had one last chance to impart wisdom from your life experiences, what would you say? That’s the question to be answered by Tarleton’s Last Lecture speakers.

Nominate a Tarleton affiliate who you think would give an inspiring, motivating, or thought-provoking lecture as this year’s Last Lecture speaker. Nominees must have been affiliated with Tarleton State University for at least 10 years in one or any combination of the following roles:

  • Faculty (i.e., current, retired, emeritus)
  • Staff
  • Student
  • Alumni

Like many other colleges and universities, Tarleton hosts an annual Last Lecture event modeled after the well-known Last Lecture talk by Carnegie Mellon professor, Randy Pausch. Last Lecture topics often address an individual’s professional, personal, and cultural experiences that have impacted the trajectory of their life and career.

Anyone, including community members and Tarleton employees/students, is welcome to submit nominations by October 9, 2023. Self-nominations will be accepted. To nominate more than one individual, please submit a separate form for each nominee. Nominations will be reviewed by a committee, and the speaker will be notified in advance of the Spring 2024 event.
