The Career Clothing Fund is a discretionary fund for students needing career clothing items appropriate for the ACTIVE MOVE TOWARD EMPLOYMENT.
This is a one-time funding source designed to “launch” a student’s work experience. Funds are distributed directly to awarded students through their BankMobile account.
Current Tarleton State students can apply for funds to help with expenses associated with the move to employment or gaining employment, or expenses associated with specialty career related items.
Students ARE awarded if the following conditions are met:
- Students are enrolled at Tarleton State University in at least 6 hours for the semester the application is received.
- Application materials are complete.
- Application materials meet the criteria for active employment pursuits (interview, internship, student teacher placement, job specific clothing or safety materials, post-graduation employment)
- Student has completed one appointment with Career Services staff member for a resume review as well as one follow up appointment.
- Funds are available for distribution.
Students may NOT be awarded if:
- They ARE NOT enrolled at Tarleton during the semester the application is received.
- The application materials are not complete.
- Application materials do not meet the criteria for active employment pursuits (ex. faculty assigned class presentations in courses, conference attendance).
- They have not completed a resume review and follow up appointment with Career Services Staff member.
- Funds are limited.
- They have been awarded in the past and funds are limited.
- Financial Aid and Business Services are unable to distribute funding.
*The participation in conferences and networking events presents valuable opportunities that can potentially pave the way for future employment prospects. However, it has become imperative for us to exclude these factors from the approval process criteria due to the constraints posed by funding limitations.
