Tarleton L.I.F.E.

Tarleton L.I.F.E. provides selected leaders with a 9-month intensive training programing focused on leadership, innovation, and civic engagement, while offering in-depth insights into various aspects of the university and how they impact its overall operations.

Types of Training and Development

Tarleton State’s Human Resources Training & Development Team partners with the University to provide high-quality, relevant training that meets both current and future needs. We take a proactive approach in creating and delivering programs that support Tarleton State’s dedication to employee growth and development.

TrainTraq

TrainTraq is the online training platform used by all members of the Texas A&M System to believe and manage training content. It can be accessed through your Single-Sign-On (SSO) menu. 

As outlined in Texas A&M System Regulation 33.05.02, all employees of Tarleton State University must complete the required courses listed below within 30 days of their hire date. Additional training may be assigned by the department heads or supervisors based on specific job responsibilities. 

  • Orientation to the A&M System (one time requirement)
  • Creating a Discrimination Free Workplace/EEO (every 2 years)
  • Ethics and Fraud (every 2 years)
  • Shots Fired (every year)
  • Flash Point (every year)
  • Information Security Awareness (every year)
  • Title IX (every year)
  • Clery Act (every year)
  • FERPA (every year)
  • Export Controls & Embargo Training – Basic Course (every 2 years)

Workday Help

Workday unifies finance and human resources for all students, faculty and staff. It is a lifecycle management cloud application designed for the way people work in today’s organizations. Human Resources offers several ways to help you use Workday, including: 

  • Training modules for new employees and managers through TrainTraq.
  • Job aids and reference guides on the Workday Help site, available through SSO.
  • Mobile app access so you can use Workday from anywhere.

Leadership Series

Our Leadership Series webinars offer valuable development for employees aspiring to leadership roles or seeking guidance in their current leadership positions. Topics include tools for leading teams, driving culture change, and transitioning into leadership roles.

Performance Management Training

Performance Management training for employees covers the evaluation process, performance cycle, SMART goals, and the value of providing a detailed assessment. For managers, the training emphasizes the importance of accurate ratings, detailed evaluations, and guiding employees through the same process. Each session includes a Q&A segment.

Request a New Training

How To

To request training, please fill out the Training Request Form. If you notice unmet training or development needs, reach out to us at employeedevelopment@tarleton.edu for support. 

To develop new training required by legislation or regulation, please refer to the approval process detailed in SAP 33.05.02.T0.01, Required Employee Training. Once the training is approved, People and Culture will assign it to the relevant employees, departments, or divisions.
