It also improves SEO by providing context for search engines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To ensure accessibility and compliance, all meaningful images should have appropriate alt text.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you&#8217;re unsure how to write alt text, ask yourself:&nbsp;<em>&#8220;If I couldn&#8217;t see this image, what would I need to know about it?&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Key Rules for Writing Alt Text:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\u2705\u00a0<strong>Be descriptive but concise:<\/strong>\u00a0Limit alt text to one or two sentences. Aim for under 125 characters total in length.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u2705\u00a0<strong>Focus on the image&#8217;s purpose:<\/strong>\u00a0Describe what&#8217;s important, not every detail.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u274c\u00a0<strong>Avoid redundant phrases:<\/strong>\u00a0Do not use &#8220;image of&#8221;, &#8220;picture of&#8221;, or &#8220;logo of&#8221; &#8211; screen readers already identify it as an image.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u2705\u00a0<strong>Use proper grammar:<\/strong>\u00a0Capitalize the first letter of a sentence, end whole sentences with a period, and avoid spelling mistakes.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u2705\u00a0<strong>Use keywords naturally:<\/strong>\u00a0Good alt text can improve search visibility, but avoid keyword stuffing.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u274c\u00a0<strong>Avoid text heavy images:<\/strong>\u00a0Do not use images that contain an excessive amount of text &#8211; screen readers cannot see this and convey it to the user.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Examples of text heavy images include infographics, tables and charts saved as image files.
