Service Week

Service is one of Tarleton's core values and Service Week is dedicated to promoting service and giving back to our community. This week of service provide opportunities for Tarleton Texans to engage in the community through the annual Round Up work day and connect knowledge learned in the classroom to the service experience on Service Learning Day.


In adherence to the March 16, 2020 COVID-19 Update, all campus events from March 23 - April 10 have been canceled/postponed. This includes all Service Week events.

Transformative Learning Symposium

Transformative Learning Symposium

The Transformative Learning Symposium is composed of a keynote speaker event with Dr. George Kuh and breakout sessions on various topics within the realm of service and transformative learning. Lunch is provided. 

Faculty are invited to present at a breakout session via a call for proposals. Those who are not presenting are encouraged to attend as schedules allow. 

Students are welcome to be involved as presenters or attendees.

Six Minutes of Service

6 Minute Service Stations

Stations will be set up near the Library, Dining Hall, and Student Center to provide quick and easy service projects for all.

Students participate in stations as they walk by before, after, and/or between classes.

Service Learning Day, part of Service Week

Service Learning Day

On Service Learning Day, Tarleton Texans address community needs by connecting knowledge learned in the classroom to specified service experiences. Students, guided by faculty and staff, engage in service connected to coursework to enhance academic skills. Faculty and staff partner with area non-profits, community organizations, neighborhood coalitions, school districts, municipal organizations, state governmental agencies, and other groups eager to engage in scholarly work to address important social problems. Be a part of Service Learning Day 2020 on Thursday, March 26.

Service Fest

Join us at Heritage Park for a celebration of Tarleton’s dedication to service, complete with music, games, giveaways, and food trucks! Students, faculty, and staff are invited to come and enjoy the celebration!

Round Up

Round Up is a student-led day of Service performed by students, faculty, staff, and community volunteers to give back to the residents of Stephenville. Volunteers perform tasks such as window washing, raking leaves, painting, and other cleaning duties.
