{"id":782,"date":"2022-05-24T16:01:59","date_gmt":"2022-05-24T16:01:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/web.tarleton.edu\/webservices\/?page_id=782"},"modified":"2026-02-18T17:07:56","modified_gmt":"2026-02-18T17:07:56","slug":"request-development","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.tarleton.edu\/weboperations\/request-development\/","title":{"rendered":"Service&nbsp;Overview"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Web Operations office provides user support and problem identification to the Tarleton State University community for:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Web Content Management System (WordPress) access and troubleshooting for the following domains:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>www.tarleton.edu<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>faculty.tarleton.edu<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>programs.tarleton.edu<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Online calendar updates and access (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tarleton.edu\/common\/links\/technology\/livewhale-calendar-login.html\">LiveWhale<\/a>)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Interactive campus map updates (Campus Bird)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tarleton.edu\/accessibility\/index.html\">Web accessibility<\/a>&nbsp;and security evaluation and troubleshooting<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-advgb-button alignfull\"><a class=\"wp-block-advgb-button_link advgbbtn-a5b34847-d329-416f-a89f-6b613e6e3a7f\" href=\"https:\/\/services.tarleton.edu\/TDClient\/57\/Portal\/Home\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span>Request a Web Support Ticket<\/span><\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">New Website\/Revamp Requests<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>New websites or revamps:<\/strong>&nbsp;Consult with the Executive Director of Web Operations regarding timetable and options for new website builds or complete revamps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For web applications, web software, and new website builds, outsourcing to a third-party vendor may be considered. We will recommend approved vendors depending on your specific needs. Outsourcing must follow purchasing guidelines established by the State of Texas and may be subject to the bidding process.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Important Information For Departments Regarding Tarleton Websites<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>All department and program websites are required to comply with federal and state\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tarleton.edu\/accessibility\/standards\/index.html\">accessibility laws<\/a>\u00a0and TAMU System\/Tarleton web policies. Web Operations will inform you of these laws and policies during the consultation as well as during the training. Web Operations will also continually inform you of any changes to these laws\/policies that you are expected to adhere to.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If your department or program does not keep website content continually updated or does not comply with accessibility laws or web policies, then said website is subject for removal from the Tarleton web server.
