New Student Checklist for VA Certification

Documents you need to submit to Tarleton’s Office of Veteran Services in order to receive your VA benefits:

Chapter 33 Veteran (Post 9/11)

  1. Certificate of Eligibility
    You can obtain this by completing the proper form on the VA website. Go to the site and select Apply for Education Benefits, then select Select Correct Form and answer the questions.
  2. DD-214 Member 4
  3. Tarleton Request for VA Certification

Chapter 33 Dependent (Post 9/11 Transfer of Entitlement and Fry Scholarship)

  1. Certificate of Eligibility
    You can obtain this by completing the proper form on the VA website. Go to the site and select Apply for Education Benefits, then select Select Correct Form and answer the questions.
  2. DD-214 Member 4 (service member/veteran who transferred benefits unless still active duty or using Fry Scholarship)

Chapters 1606 (Montgomery-Reserve/National Guard)

  1. Certificate of Eligibility
    You can obtain this by completing the proper form on the VA website. Go to the site and select Apply for Education Benefits, then select Select Correct Form and answer the questions. You will need to obtain a DD 22-2384 Notice of Basic Eligibility from your chain of command and submit it to the VA during this process
