Her research interests include perceptions of crime and criminal justice, media and crime, women in prison, and violence against women.&nbsp; She received her Bachelor\u2019s degree in Sociology from The University of Texas at Austin in 1993, her M.S. in Sociology from Virginia Tech University in 1996, and he Ph.D. in Criminology from Florida State University in 2004.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; She previously served as Department Head of Criminal Justice at Tarleton State University and held an appointment as an Assistant Professor at the University of Texas at Arlington.&nbsp; Dr. Dobbs has co-authored over 20 journal articles, including articles Journal of Criminal Justice Education, the Canadian Journal of Criminology and Criminal Justice, and Criminal Justice and Law Review.&nbsp; Dr. Dobbs has completed the FBI Dallas Citizen\u2019s Academy, Leadership Fort Worth Leadership class, and Leadership Arlington Leadership Class.
