Impact Award

The Impact Award recognizes a staff member who displays outstanding and exemplary problem solving, resourcefulness, and innovation toward reducing University costs, improving safety, or increasing efficiencies.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Problem solving/resourceful
    • Uses alternative methods or comes up with creative solutions to a problem
    • Takes initiative in absence of supervision
    • Overcomes obstacles and works well under unusual and extraordinary circumstances
  • Cost savings and efficiencies
    • Identifies and corrects potential safety issues in the work area and across the university
    • Initiates preventative measures or ways to save resources
    • Modifies processes to improve efficiencies and maximize resources
    • Performs job in a way that saves the university money, time, and/or materials
  • Safety improvements
    • Identifies and corrects potential safety issues in the work area and across the University
    • Takes action to prevent injury to employees
    • Makes recommendations for improving safe work practices
