\u00bfQue es Upward Bound?<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Upward Bound is one of several TRIO programs funded by the U.S. Department of Education.  We have been a part of the Tarleton Campus for over 40 years and during this time have provided a wide-range of free services that have helped hundreds of high school students within our target schools gain the necessary skills and motivation to pursue a post-secondary education. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Upward Bound provides fundamental support to participants in their preparation for college. The program provides opportunities for participants to succeed in pre-college performance and post-secondary education. The goal of Upward Bound is to increase the rates at which participants enroll in and graduate from institutions of post-secondary education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We provide academic and educational enrichment for participants including math, lab science, composition, literature, and foreign language, during the academic year and the summer. During the academic year, meetings are held two Saturdays a month from September through May on the Tarleton campus. The five-week summer residential program provides invaluable opportunities for students to experience educational learning in a college environment and participate in various activities and college tours. Students must participate in both components to maintain eligibility for program services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Post Graduation Bridge<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Summer Bridge program is offered to those who have graduated from high school and are accepted to a post-secondary education in the fall. Upward Bound will pay for a course for college credit that may be transferred to the college of their choice.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
