The following list represents courses in which we would like to have or maintain SI leader coverage:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Economics<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Biology<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Chemistry<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mathematics<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Physics<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>NOTE: If you do not see the subject you are interested in being an SI leader for, apply anyway. We may be able to fit you into a program not listed if funding permits, or use you as a tutor.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-advgb-button alignfull\"><a Activities<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Attend all class meetings of the selected course, take notes, and read all assigned materials including text(s) and supplemental readings<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Conduct at least two 50-minute study sessions per week throughout the term using strategies learned through the SI leader-training workshop.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Regularly meet with the SI supervisor to discuss:\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" style=\"list-style-type:lower-alpha\">\n<li>Observations of the SI sessions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Use of SI session handouts and activities.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Planning of SI sessions and use of a wide variety of learning strategies.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Difficulties encountered in sessions.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Secondary Activities<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Provide two hour test preparation sessions, prior to examinations.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Provide supplemental materials for use during SI sessions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Maintain contact throughout the term with course professor or designated representative.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Meet with other campus SI leaders and supervisory staff at scheduled meetings.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Assist SI supervisor in training other SI leaders.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Other duties as assigned by the SI supervisor.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Maintenance Activities<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Complete necessary personnel paperwork.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Attend SI leader training workshop at the beginning of each term.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Work with TLC staff to select appropriate times and scheduling of SI sessions.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" start=\"4\">\n<li>Make periodic announcements about the availability of the SI sessions to the students.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ensure that all surveys are distributed and assist with data analysis.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Collect attendance data for every SI session, including student names, course title, date, and time of session.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Administer end-of-term evaluation to SI class to get student input on effectiveness of the SI program.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Assist the SI supervisor in the preparation of end-of-term reports and other reports as requested.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Maintain a professional attitude.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Model appropriate behaviors to staff, students, and others.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Provide the SI supervisor with an up-to-date schedule of your SI sessions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Notify your SI supervisor in advance if you cannot conduct a SI session as scheduled.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:15px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Qualifications<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Undergraduate (above the classification level of freshman) or graduate student.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A consistent cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above is required.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A grade of A in the selected or similar course is required (on rare exceptions we will allow individuals with a B to SI leaders if recommended and other requirements have been met); prior enrollment with the professor who is to teach the selected course is preferred but not a requirement.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Good interpersonal and communications skills are required.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"instructions\">If you meet the qualifications above, please consider
