Compliance Committee

Charge/Purpose

Tarleton State University has charged the Title IX Compliance Committee to enhance communication and coordination within the university regarding Title IX incidents to strengthen compliance with Title IX requirements regarding discrimination, harassment, and related retaliation based on sex. As well as being charged with heightening awareness across the university regarding the types of discrimination and harassment prohibited by Title IX along with how to properly report complaints.

The committee reports to the Vice President for Student Life with the following membership: Title IX Coordinator (Chair); Assoc. VP for Student Life, Asst. VP for Employee Services, Athletics Compliance Officer, Violence Prevention Coordinator, the Judicial Affairs Officer, and the University Police Chief. Committee membership will also include a representative from University Compliance, Marketing & Communication, Academic Affairs, Outreach & Off Campus Programs, and a Title IX Investigator. Membership on this committee will remain permanent based on job responsibilities within their departments and to the University. Meeting frequency is monthly with additional meetings scheduled if situations arise that require their immediate attention.
