REU Application Package

If you do not have a REU ID...

To apply to Tarleton's REU Site (Restoring cattle ranches for sustainable land and water resources, NSF Award# 1658984), applicants will first need to register at the National Science Foundation's REU website to provide basic background information and obtain a REU ID. Applications that do not include this ID will be rejected.

If you already have a REU ID...

Once an applicant has a REU ID they must complete the online application specific to Tarleton's REU program button below to begin). Important dates associated with the 2020 application process are:

  • December 1, 2019 - online application process begins
  • March 6, 2020 - online application process ends
  • April 3, 2020 - students will be notified of their application status

The online application includes:

  1. Application information - including REU ID
  2. Academic information - including uploaded transcripts
  3. Essay (450-550 words) on why you are interested in the Tarleton State University REU program
  4. Faculty mentor selection - top three choices
  5. Reference information for one academic advisor, research mentor, or science instructor.
