Coverage is provide for the convenience of our students, faculty, and staff. Hotspots are areas designed to provide wireless coverage for a limited range of access. Tarleton wireless network access is intended for basic connectivity to the Internet (i.e. to check your email and browse the web).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:15px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Residence Hall Wireless<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Internet service including some wireless hotspots, for students residing in\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tarleton.edu\/housing\/\">Residential Living and Learning facilities, are provide by Apogee, Inc.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:15px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Who Can Use the Wireless Network at Tarleton?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Tarleton students, faculty, and staff with valid Tarleton network credentials (NTNET login ID and password) can access the wireless network on campus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>&#8220;Tarleton-WiFi&#8221;: This encrypted network allows Internet access, including university resources \u2014 email and T-drive. This preferred wireless network is used for conducting university business across campus<\/li><li>&#8220;Tarleton-Visitors&#8221;: This network is for visitors who are not Tarleton affiliated but require Internet access while on campus<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Guests who do not have an NTNET account can request a temporary account for wireless access while on campus. If you are having trouble getting connected, please visit the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tarleton.edu\/technology\/guest\/\">Visitor Wireless instructions.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you have problems logging in or using the Internet tutorials, please contact the Help Desk or visit us at the Tech Spot in the Library Learning Common.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:15px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What is Eduroam?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Eduroam (<strong>edu<\/strong>cation&nbsp;<strong>roam<\/strong>ing) is a secure wireless network service that allows students, staff, and faculty member wireless network (Wi-Fi) access while visiting other Eduroam participating institutions. This service is available without having to set up a guest account. Simply use your Tarleton network (NTNET) credentials anywhere you find the&nbsp;<strong>eduroam<\/strong>&nbsp;wireless network advertised.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:15px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to use Eduroam<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are a Tarleton State University student, staff or faculty member, you can use two methods to configure your wireless device to access the&nbsp;<strong>eduroam<\/strong>&nbsp;wireless network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can use the Eduroam Configuration Assistant Tool (CAT) to automatically configure your device for you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Simply\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/cat.eduroam.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">select this link<\/a>, select \u201c<strong>Click here to download your eduroam @installer\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0and enter Tarleton State University (in most cases you will be automatically presented with the configuration file for your device) click continue, then select save and install.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>When prompted for username, ensure you enter your username as&nbsp;<strong><em>username @ tarleton.edu&nbsp;<\/em><\/strong>(i.e.&nbsp;<strong>j<\/strong><strong>tarleton@tarleton.edu or<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>000121212@ tarleton.ed<\/strong>&nbsp;).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" start=\"2\"><li>Or you can configure your wireless device manually to use the&nbsp;<strong>eduroam&nbsp;<\/strong>wireless network. Configuration is similar to setting up the&nbsp;<strong>\u201cTarleton-WiFi<\/strong>\u201d wireless network. Simply use&nbsp;<strong>eduroam<\/strong>&nbsp;instead of \u201c<strong>Tarleton-WiFi<\/strong>\u201d as the SSID.&nbsp;<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>When prompted for username, ensure you enter your username as&nbsp;<strong><em>username @ tarleton.edu&nbsp;<\/em><\/strong>(i.e.&nbsp;<strong>j<\/strong><strong>tarleton@tarleton.edu or<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>000121212@tarleton.edu<\/strong>&nbsp;).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Note:<\/strong>&nbsp;If you require access to resources at your home institution, you can enable an additional connection to the Tarleton State University VPN in order to receive on-campus-equivalent network access.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:15px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Eduroam Participating Institutions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Having started in Europe, Eduroam has gained momentum throughout the research and education community and is now available in 76 territories worldwide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Eduroam has a number of maps with member institutions worldwide. Click the links below to see maps and listing of Eduroam participating institutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\uf0b7\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.eduroam.org\/index.php?p=where\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Eduroam<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\uf0b7\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.eduroam.us\/institutions_list\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Eduroam-US<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:15px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Visitor Access to Eduroam<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Visitors from other&nbsp;<strong>eduroam<\/strong>&nbsp;institutions should pre-configure their wireless device on their home network before connecting to the Tarleton State University\u2019s&nbsp;<strong>eduroam<\/strong>&nbsp;network. If you have already done that, connect directly to the&nbsp;<strong>eduroam<\/strong>&nbsp;wireless network and use your home institution&#8217;s credentials to log in.
