Short-Term Group Travel

Short-term group trips are Tarleton State University sponsored programs that can either be credit-bearing (offered in conjunction with a Tarleton course) or non-credit bearing (such as volunteer or service learning program). These opportunities are coordinated by a Tarleton faculty member, staff member, or a student organization.

Note: Short-term non-credit bearing group trips need to be organized through the Student Engagement Office.


  • Duration abroad ranges between one and two weeks
  • The brief exposure abroad encourages students to pursue longer immersion programs during their academic career at Tarleton State University
  • Students engage in projects related to a particular academic outcome(s)
  • Students are able to use financial aid to offset program-related expenses for credit-bearing experiences.

Eligibility Requirements

Requirements are determined by the program leader(s) coordinating the trip.

Application Process

Once the participant list is confirmed for a trip, eligible students are provided instructions by their program leader(s) on how to complete registration process with the International Programs Office. Students must complete the registration process and mandatory pre-departure orientation prior to departure.
