About the Division

The Division of Student Affairs at Tarleton State University works to create a robust co-curricular experience for our students by developing out-of-classroom programs that enhance student learning. We also pride ourselves on the services we provide that truly make Tarleton a home away from home.

Student Affairs uses Tarleton’s Core Values—Service, Tradition, Integrity, Civility, Leadership, and Excellence— as its framework for developing student learning objectives, and base our work from the University’s four strategic goals of Academic Innovation, Student Transformation, Distinctive Engagement, and Exemplary Service. Take a look at the Strategic Plan for the Division of Student Affairs.

Students

We tailor everything we do around you. When you first step foot on campus, the Division of Student Affairs is there to help you transition to college life through our various orientation and first-year programs. From housing, to meals, to maintaining physical and mental health, we strive to build a great foundation for your success both in and out of the classroom as you progress through your Tarleton journey. With hundreds of student organizations, student councils, committees, and leadership opportunities, we try to make it easy for you to get plugged in, involved and truly engaged in your college experience.

Parents

Parents play a large role in the college experience and are an integral part of ensuring the success and well being of our students. The Division of Student Affairs offers several ways for parents to stay connected, such as the Parent Portal – which provides access to campus news and deadlines, students’ progress and financial details – and the Tarleton Parent’s Association helps you to network with other Tarleton parents. For additional resources, check out our Parents and Family site.

Faculty & Staff

A strong connection with faculty and staff across the institution is vital to the success of the Division of Student Affairs. Many of our programs can serve to enhance classroom learning by linking discipline knowledge to real-world applications. A university-wide understanding of what we do and what we offer can also help bridge the gap for our students, providing a seamless path to their success.

Alumni

Once you cross that stage to receive your diploma, your tie to Tarleton does not disappear. The opportunities Student Affairs provides often build a deep and long-lasting connection between Tarleton and its former students. When you look back at your time here, you’ll remember the moments with friends, how exhausting, yet fun it was to be a Duck Camp leader, the mixers you had in your fraternity or sorority, the difference you made at Round Up, or the emotion you felt as the Bonfire burned brightly. As an alumni you can relive those moments and be a part of ensuring those opportunities live on for the next generation of Texans.
