Tarleton Staff Makes A Difference!

About Us

Staff Council shall represent the staff of Tarleton State University in all matters of general interest to staff employees including matters raised by Council Representatives, Council Committees, and by the President of the University, and through petition, by any full-time and any part-time staff employee. The Staff Council is the principal means of communication between the staff and the administration of the University. The Staff Council shall be empowered to act for and on behalf of the staff and shall express the opinion of the staff on all matters laid before the Staff Council.

Attend a Meeting

All general Staff Council meetings are open meetings -- please feel free to attend as your schedule permits. Executive Committee meetings are not open as some information discussed relates to private information.

If you're interested in presenting an item for discussion to Staff Council, please contact Ashley Barns, Staff Council President, at 254-968-1625.

If you are interested in serving as an official member of Staff Council; fill out the online interest survey.

Staff Council welcomes requests for presentations from outside groups or individuals. You may also contact any Staff Council member with requests to present.

News and Events

  • The Summer Staff Mixer will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on June 14 in Heritage Park. Lunch from Jimmy John's will be provided and Staff Appreciation gifts will be distributed. Mark your calendars and RSVP attend!
  • Summer Commencement will be held on Friday, August 10, and we need volunteer ticket takers for each of the ceremonies. Sign up early to get your preferred time slot!
  • The Staff Development Day presentation recordings are now available online!
