Throughout the week, students will work alongside the Ozarks Trail Association on trail maintenance, erosion control, debris removal, and general upkeep of public lands. Service days will focus on hands-on environmental stewardship, teamwork, and learning about sustainable land management practices. Outside of service hours, students will engage in guided hikes, reflection activities, and educational discussions centered on environmental responsibility and community impact. Students will assist with home construction and renovation projects, which may include framing, painting, landscaping, and site preparation, depending on project needs. In addition to service, participants will learn about housing insecurity, urban development, and sustainability within a metropolitan context. Evening reflections will allow students to connect their service to broader social justice issues related to housing access. Students will assist with animal care tasks such as feeding, cleaning enclosures, maintenance, and general facility support. Participants will learn about animal rescue operations, ethical animal care, and the role of nonprofits in protecting vulnerable animals. Daily reflections will focus on compassion, service, and community impact.
