The purpose of the Registered Student Organization (RSO) Handbook is to provide guidance on university expectations, policies and procedures for student organizations officially recognized by the institution. Tarleton values the important contribution RSOs make to the student experience. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Office of Student Involvement, is located in the Thompson Student Center Suit 105. The department oversees RSO recognition, provides RSO officer and advisor training, and supports overall operations for organizations. Student Organizations<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

All information related to Recognized Student Organizations (RSOs) is managed through Tarleton’s approved software, TexanSync<\/a>. To register or access organizational data, go to Google and type in “TexanSync.” Click on the first link that appears. In the top right corner, click “Sign In” and use your Tarleton credentials (first.last@go.tarleton.edu). This will allow you to create and maintain an organization, submit event recognition forms, and more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reminder<\/em>: It’s important to update TexanSync whenever there’s turnover within an organization to ensure accurate membership and leadership roster information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Registered Student Organizations (RSO)<\/h3><\/div>

Registered Student Organization is an association or group comprised of students that upon completion of the registration process are entitled to certain privileges, including access to a variety of resources provided by the institution. Student groups are those that mainly host events and opportunities limited to their membership and the campus community. These organizations are primarily organizations where students that are driven and share a common interest. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Sponsored Student Organizations (SSO)<\/h3><\/div>

Sponsored Student Organization is an association or group compromised and in purpose similar to a registered student organization; however, are affiliated with a Tarleton State University academic or administrative department designated by support through funding. A sponsored student organization has an advisor that is paid by the University and job description includes advising of a student organization. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Fraternity and Sorority Life (FSL)<\/h4><\/div>

Fraternity and Sorority Life (FSL) at Tarleton State University offers students opportunities to develop leadership skills, foster lifelong friendships, and engage in community service through membership in values-based organizations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tarleton is home to 21 active fraternities and sororities across three governing councils.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Membership is open to all currently enrolled Tarleton students who meet the academic and behavioral expectations of their desired organization. Each initiated member is expected to maintain a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA and remain in good standing with the university.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
